Graham Day

I worked for the NHS as a Consultant Audiologist dispensing hearing aids in Manchester for more than 20 years. For 4 years I was in charge of Audiology at CMMC (Manchester Royal Infirmary) and for 16 years I was in charge of Audiology at UHSM (South Manchester). In both cases I was employed to make major changes to the structure of these Departments and introduced many new techniques and practices. My work involved all aspects of Audiology including audio-vestibular and paediatrics. For 16 years I supervised the training of post-graduate clinical scientists in Audiology across the North-West. This included lecturing at both the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University where I was Honorary Lecturer.

Previously I worked in Glasgow and spent 6 years researching for the Medical Research Council with 3 years specialising in hearing research. My initial degree was in Electronics and together with my PhD in Medical Engineering I have a broad knowledge of medical electronic solutions. This has led to a keen interest in hearing aid technology.

I have run my own Private Hearing Aid Service for more than 20 years, initially from my base at Withington Community Hospital and now from bases in Gatley and Wilmslow.
